Wide-Angle Hinges for Cabinets and Furniture
Wide-Angle Hinges for Cabinets and Furniture
Wide-angle hinges allow the door to open considerably further than standard cabinet hinges. The wider opening provides better access to the cabinet interior and can make it easier to use internal drawers, pull-out shelves and other fittings.
For drawers and pull-out shelves behind the door
On Salice hinges, the letter K in the product code indicates that the model can be used when drawers or pull-out shelves are positioned behind the door. When combined with a 0 mm mounting plate, these hinges provide 0 mm protrusion at 90° opening. The door therefore does not project into the clear cabinet opening or obstruct the pull-out.
Examples of these models include C2PKA99, C2PKPE9 and C2AKAE9.
Opening angles and functions
The range includes hinges with opening angles of 155°, 165° and 270°. Models with a 155° or 165° opening provide good access to the cabinet interior, while a 270° hinge can allow the door to fold back towards the outside of the cabinet.
Wide-angle hinges are available with self-closing, soft-close and push-to-open functions. Push-to-open models have a reverse-action spring. Pressing the door releases the push catch, after which the hinge pushes the door outwards.
Choosing the correct wide-angle hinge
Check the opening angle, door position, door thickness, cup size, drilling dimensions and available movement space. Wide-angle describes how far the door can open and should not be confused with angled hinges, which are used when the door or cabinet side is installed at a particular angle.
A mounting plate is never included when you purchase a hinge. For a compatible K model to provide 0 mm protrusion at 90° opening, it must be combined with a 0 mm mounting plate.
